Graduates in the Rehabilitation Health Professions class carry out, with full professional responsibility and autonomy, activities aimed at prevention, care, rehabilitation, and the design and implementation of educational pathways for individuals and the community, as provided by the regulations identifying the role and related professional profile established by the Minister of Health Decree 520/98. The professional figure of the professional educator is identified with the following profile: the professional educator is a social and healthcare practitioner who, holding a qualifying university degree, implements specific educational and rehabilitative projects—within a therapeutic plan developed by a multidisciplinary team—aimed at a balanced development of the personality with educational/relational objectives in a context of participation and reintegration into daily life; they support the positive psycho-social inclusion or reinclusion of people in difficulty. L/SNT2 Speech and Language Therapy
The degree program in Speech and Language Therapy belongs to the Rehabilitation Health Professions class. The speech and language therapist is a qualified healthcare professional who works in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders affecting voice, speech, oral and written language, calculation, communication, fluency, and hearing, as well as oral and swallowing functions and all functions—including cognitive—implicated in the comprehension and production of language in childhood, adulthood, and old age.
