Vision
NEUROFARBA aims to establish itself as a national and international hub of excellence for research and training in the biomedical, psychological, and pharmaceutical fields, with a focus on safeguarding health and improving quality of life. Its vision is built on:
- Educating a new generation of health professionals who are conscious, interdisciplinary, and innovative;
- Promoting teaching integrated with research, student-centered, attentive to emerging challenges, focused on inclusion, bioethics, and well-being, and embracing digital and blended learning approaches;
- Anticipating future skill needs (emerging technologies, personalized medicine, psychological well-being);
- Overcoming disciplinary boundaries through an integrated and translational educational culture;
- Establishing itself as a reference hub for integrated research in biomedical, psychological, and pharmaceutical fields;
- Strengthening its role as an authority in experimental and clinical research, promoting innovation and interdisciplinarity;
- Addressing new health challenges (longevity, mental health, neurodegenerative diseases) with predictive and personalized approaches;
- Embedding sustainability, social impact, and ethical values in research design;
- Promoting research policies based on equity, responsibility, and knowledge sharing;
- Serving as a reference point for an active, two-way dialogue between science and society;
- Generating tangible impact on the community through cultural, educational, and healthcare activities;
- Developing participatory and inclusive models to tackle complex challenges (digitalization, aging, mental health);
- Reinforcing the Department’s identity as a promoter of scientific culture and social inclusion;
- Building an ecosystem open to cooperation among universities, public and private research institutions, non-profit organizations, foundations, institutions, citizens, and businesses;
- Contributing to the development of innovative therapeutic strategies, also in collaboration with the regional healthcare system, the Tuscan Life Sciences district, and biotech companies;
- Promoting the dissemination of green and digital skills;
- Expanding its international dimension (inbound and outbound mobility of students and faculty, joint research projects, strategic partnerships, visiting professors);
- Developing international teaching and research networks;
- Strengthening scientific and cultural agreements with foreign universities;
- Making a concrete contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education).
