Perinatal Research Laboratory (PeaRL)
The PeaRL Laboratory is a collaboration between the NEUROFARBA Department of the University of Florence and the CiaoLapo ETS Foundation, dedicated to research on mental and physical health during the perinatal period. Its activities focus on the safe and appropriate use of medications during pregnancy and breastfeeding, prescribing appropriateness, the management of drug and substance abuse and dependence, and the effects of xenobiotics, environmental factors, and lifestyles on women's well-being and children's neurodevelopment during the first thousand days of life. The PeaRL Laboratory promotes an integrated network of public and private organizations for healthcare and research, while also developing digital tools to promote perinatal health and the training of healthcare professionals.

PROMISE@LAB – PROtocols and Outcome Measures in Rehabilitation Medicine (NEUROFARBA participates as a partner)
Collaborative development and validation of treatment protocols and innovative outcome measures in Rehabilitation Medicine, with a focus on physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dysphagia rehabilitation, neurocognitive rehabilitation, integrated rehabilitation protocols, and the promotion of healthy ageing. The laboratory also focuses on the use and validation of innovative technologies, including robotics, augmented reality, virtual reality, wearable sensors, and telerehabilitation. Activities include the development and application of clinical, functional, and instrumental measures, including those derived from robotic systems. Research also addresses predictive factors and biomarkers of treatment response, including clinical-functional, neurophysiological, instrumental, and laboratory parameters, as well as the development of predictive models based on machine learning techniques.
