Quality Assurance

Departments are key actors in the University's Quality Assurance System.
Within the framework of Quality Assurance processes, Departments prepare the following documents on an annual basis:

  • Department Development Plan: the Department's strategic planning document, prepared in accordance with the University's Strategic Plan, on a three-year basis with annual updates, integrated with academic staff planning and the financial budget.
  • Annual Monitoring and Review Report: a document for analysis and self-assessment of the main activities and results achieved during the reference year in teaching, research, knowledge valorization, and resource management.
The preparation of the above documents follows formats, procedures, and timelines established through specific regulations and circulars issued by the University of Florence, in compliance with ANVUR requirements and the University's Quality Assurance System.
The main actors involved in the Department's Quality Assurance processes are the Director, the Department Council, the Steering and Self-Assessment Committee (CIA), and any delegates responsible for specific areas.

For the implementation of Quality Assurance processes concerning Degree Programmes and Doctoral Programmes, the Department also relies on the activities of the relevant programme bodies and the Schools in which it participates.
