Laboratorio del sonno (SleePsyLab)

The Sleep Laboratory (SleePsyLab) investigates the bidirectional relationship between sleep and cognitive processes, with a specific focus on learning and memory, both in healthy subjects and clinical populations. Changes in sleep architecture across the lifespan are also examined, with attention to both physiological and behavioral aspects. Additionally, we explore the psychological dimensions of sleep, including sleepiness and sleep-related behaviors, such as yawning. Another area of interest concerns the implementation of behavioural and cognitive-based interventions aimed at improving sleep features (e.g., sleep continuity, stability and cyclic organization) as well as perceived sleep quality in poor sleepers. Sleep characteristics are assessed using both subjective measures (e.g., sleep diaries, standardized scales, and questionnaires) and objective methods, including polysomnographic recordings and actigraphy.
